What I’m wearing: Mackage leather moto jacket c/o / Who What Wear x Target button down (plus size here) / J. Crew Factory mid-rise denim / J. Crew d’Orsay flats (old), similar / ALLSAINTS leather tote
Fall in New England is one of my favorite things. There is nothing better the gorgeous sunny days and seeing all of the trees with crisp orange and red leaves. The worst part about fall is that it seems to go by so quickly. How does winter last forever but one of the most beautiful seasons go by quicker than the snap of a finger? For now, I will be soaking in every minute of fall. From pumpkin and apple picking, to Thanksgiving and Halloween, these 5 wardrobe pieces will get you through all of the weather changes this fall.
1. The Moto Jacket
The moto jacket is one of the most versatile closet staples that any women of any age should own. From studs to zippers, belts, and all of the fabric choices (leather, vegan leather, suede – oh my!) there is a moto jacket out there for everyone at virtually every price point. Paired with jeans and a slouchy tee, a dress, or even shorts in the summer. Stylish and practical, something that is very important!
I absolutely love this leather moto jacket I was sent last winter, but I know that the price point isn’t for everyone so be sure to check out these other styles that are to die for (I’m loving this suede one).
2. The Button Down
A classic white button down is a must in any closet – no matter if it’s for work or play, no matter the season, no matter the event. It’s a crucial piece to any wardrobe. In recent months, I’ve strayed away from the classic white button down and I couldn’t be any happier. Like the moto jacket and the other items mentioned in this post, there are a lot of different options. Although my two go-tos are this striped version from Target (under $30!) and a lace up version also from the Who What Wear x Target collection that I picked up over the summer.
If you’re not a collared shirt, button down type of gal, playing into the current trends and mixing it up with a leather mini skirt or biker shorts is a good way to get your foot in the door!
3. Comfortable Denim
Jeans are a girls best friend and are the best every day option for fall. Leggings are great but not ideal, skirts and dresses require tights 8/10 times, but great pair of denim can easily be dressed up or down from work to play. At this point, I’ve tried so many cost affective pairs of denim but time and time again I’m looking to spend a little more in order to get that quality.
It’s totally okay if you’re not interested or able to spend $50+ on denim, but as someone who wears jeans day in and day out and if you’re someone who does the same, save up and buy at least one pair that you can reach for when you need to be a little bit more dressed up!
4. Cute (but practical) flats
Flats are a great go-to item for fall because they’re so stinkin’ cute, are lightweight, and they give protection to your feel on those chillier days. Flats are a perfect in between summer and winter shoe and are fool proof. Want something a little sexier? Go for a pointed toe d’Orsay. Want something a little more reserved and classic? Try a patent leather ballerina flat.
5. The Go Everywhere Tote
I finally gave in an splurged on the ALL SAINTS leather tote and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The tote is such a classic bag and is truly one of those bags that you can have forever without it going out of style. If you don’t think the tote is for you, try it out by purchasing a wallet friendly version. When finding the right toe for you, take your daily adventures into consideration so you can find the right size to fit your laptop, textbooks, or farmer’s market finds!
