Combating Greasy Roots with L’Oreal

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner & Dry Shampoo

Greasy hair getting you down? Girl, I’m with ya! Second day hair isn’t even a word in my vocabulary, which sucks – I mean, who doesn’t want perfect second day hair? I recently started using the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Shampoo and Conditioner with the hopes that I’d be able to tackle my greasy roots and be able to embrace my second day hair. Turns out, it’s amazing, I’m freakin’ obsessed, and it does what it says it’s going to do. The best part? Each product is under $10!

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner & Dry Shampoo

Have I sold you on this amazing product line yet? Are you unsure if it’s for you? Here are the problems I was facing and how they’ve helped:

My hair before L’Oreal:

Second day hair wasn’t a word in my vocabulary. Between the products I use in my hair and running my fingers through my hair (constantly, by the time I went to bed, my roots were already greasy. I wash my hair every morning (I know, I know) but if for some reason I didn’t have time to shower and wash my hair, dry shampoo and my regularly styling routine would leave my hair feeling greasy, flat, and a darker shade (is this just me or does your hair get darker the longer you go without washing it?).

My previous hair routine:

As I mentioned before, I wash my hair every day. I had been switching off between the Kristin Ess shampoo & conditioner (read my review on her hair care line here) and Pantene Repair & Protect (don’t laugh!) depending on the day and what bottle I grabbed first in the shower. After a few days of using whichever shampoo I was using at the time, my hair would start getting finacky, didn’t feel extremely clean (even after I showered), and my roots were unnecessarily greasy for post-shampooing. In addition to these two shampoos and conditioners, I use 3 other products to style my hair: TRESemme Heat Protectant, John Frieda Hair Spray, Kristin Ess Hair Working Serum, and Kristin Ess Hair Working Texture Spray. I apply them in that exact order and finish off with a final application of hair spray.

My current hair routine:

I’ve switched out my Kristin Ess Hair and Pantene shampoo & conditioner for L’Oreal’s Extraordinary clay shampoo & conditioner (I still use the other two  brands occasionally) and have been using it for roughly three weeks now! I still rely on the same styling products (mentioned above) and style my hair in the same way.

Since switching to the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay a few weeks ago, I’ve had perfect hair days every. single. day. My hair doesn’t get greasy throughout the day, no matter how many products I use or times I run my fingers through it. I’ve also finally been able to conquer second day hair, thanks to the L’Oreal Extraordinary Dry Shampoo!
