Coffee table books: the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m at the point where I question whether I want to spend my last $30 on a new coffee table book or put it into savings. Don’t worry – I do the mature thing and spend my last $30 on a new coffee table book. I’ve been borderline hoarding them lately, but can you blame me? They are educational and look amazing stacked on top of (you guessed it….) a coffee table.
When purchasing a new coffee table book, I take two things into consideration: the content of said book and how the book will fit into my home decor. Okay, so I live at home but I still liter my coffee table books around my room and my house, and I’ll be taking them with me when I move out (so you get the point). Here are some of my favorites that I’ve added to the collection:
In The Company Of Women: Founder of Design*Sponge, Grace Bonney, has created the best coffee table book of all time. There is nothing better than women supporting other women, so this book really hits the nail on the head. From fashion designers and graphic designers, to chef’s and musicians, page after page is filled with inspiration, advice, and a peak into the lives of these amazing women. A coffee table must-have.
The Curated Closet: Are you dying to discover your personal style or having trouble building your dream wardrobe? Then The Curated Closet is for you. Anuschka Rees teaches you to shop smarter and more selectively, how to make the most out of your budget, how to tweak your wardrobe for work, and much, much more. Each and every page is filled with gorgeous photos, tips and tricks for making the most out of your wardrobe, amazing color palettes, and cheat sheets for seasonal updates and common wardrobe problems (and how to fix them!). This book is basically my lifeline for keeping my wardrobe in check.
Capture Your Style: I am a huge fan of Instagram and everything that the platform has to offer so it’s no surprise that I would include Capture Your Style as one of my favorite coffee table books. Sure, it’s not your typical coffee table book, but I still keep it looped in with the others. Aimee Song has a lust worthy Instagram feed and through her book she not only shares her secrets to achieving the best Instagram photos, but also shares how to turn your feed into a storybook. Gorgeous photo inspo included.
All In Good Taste: Did you grow up dreaming of hosting the most amazing dinner parties? Yup, me too. From properly setting a table, to some amazing recipes, and setting the scene, Kate Spade’s All In Good Taste is the ultimate guide to becoming the ultimate hostess. I’m a huge fan of all of the Kate Spade coffee table books (I own all of them), but this one if by far my favorite because it’s almost like a self help book for hosting and toasting (and all of the responsibilities and accidents that you might endure).
Other gorgeous pieces to include on your coffee table:
You can never have too many coffee table books, so go wild – stack them on your coffee table, add them to your book shelf, include them in your bedroom. They’re meant for inspiration and decoration. I love topping mine off with a pair of statement worthy shoes or a cool sea urchin.
