Incorporating Color Into Your Winter Wardrobe

Incorporating Color Into Your Winter Wardrobe

I am a huge fan of wearing dark colors, especially in the winter. On those cold and dreary winter days, it’s so hard not to put on a chunky black sweater and call it a day. But recently, I’ve been trying to make the conscious effort to incorporate more color into my wardrobe and this draped collar coat has really helped changed my opinion on color. If you’re like me, here are some tips on incorporating color into your wardrobe this winter:

Be Practical

Incorporating color into your wardrobe is actually fairly easy, but remember that it’s still winter, there’s snow on the ground, and it’s freezing. Wearing white jeans and strappy heels might not be ideal when there is three inches of slush and snow on the ground. If you want to wear white jeans, try incorporating a neutral colored sweater, tan boots, and a cozy jacket into the mix to get the winter feel.

Add A Colorful Coat

If wearing white jeans in the winter isn’t your thing, try adding a colorful jacket. It’s easier to commit to one clothing item that is a color other than black, navy, or grey than it is to commit to an entire outfit. I am loving this draped collar coat from SheIn. The color is gorgeous, it looks adorable tied or untied, and will carry me throughout the winter and into the spring! The length is perfect, too.

Other colorful options:

Shy Away From Black

I’m the last person to tell you to shy away from black, but I’ve found that once I get sucked in, there’s no turning back. When you’re out shopping, try your hardest not to pick up any black. Reach for the brighter colors that you wouldn’t normally try on. Even if you don’t buy them, you have made the effort to adding more color into your wardrobe.

If you want to easily add some color to your not so colorful wardrobe, try purchasing some more colorful accessories. This is easy because you could simply add a colorful scarffun earrings, or carry an embellished clutch. Each add more color to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. Even pairing a fun shoe can help shake up an outfit!

I am loving this outfit because it’s super comfy and casual, but the coat and pumps add a chic concept to it. Plus, you can never go wrong with a great pair of high rise denim!

Also, that pink draped coat is super pretty – totally agree that there’s so many more options out there than all black! I just bought a brown coat and that was like the biggest change for me haha!
