Since I go to college only two short hours away from home, I’ve been lucky to be able to go home whenever I want. Which my parents get annoyed with (they’re probably reading this saying “yes Rachel, you annoy us”) but I love being able to still be included in family events and birthdays even when I’m at school. I’ve seriously only missed my dad’s birthday and my brother’s birthday once in the last four years, how awesome is that?
Anyways, today I realized I wouldn’t be able to head home for Mother’s Day weekend because of finals and called my mom crying. Naturally, I was selfish and told her she’s not allowed to celebrate Mom’s Day until I get home the following day. Now that’s I’ve come to terms with not being home, I have fully accepted the fact that I get an extra day for shopping purposes. So what do I have my eye on for Mom you ask??
Do you ever shop for your mom (or anyone else in your life) and you’re literally saying “one for you, one for me” every time you decide on a present? That was me when I was making this gift guide.
Mom’s love four things: things for their homes, shoes, jewelry, and anything that they can pamper themselves with. If your mom is looking for a new perfume, I 100% recommend COCO MADEMOISELLE. My mom actually got it for me for my birthday and it’s my new go-to perfume. I reference it as my “Old Lady Perfume” because it has a “sexy, fresh oriental” smell to it (yes I just quoted the Internet) but there’s just something about it – I guess it’s just one of those classic perfumes you can never go wrong with.
If you’re trying to stay within the $50 range, gifting mom with a cute trinket dish is an easy peasy way to go. Mom’s tend to wear the same jewelry on an every day basis (who doesn’t?) and having a cute place to put said jewelry before bed is always super convenient. Plus, it doubles as home decor.
If your mom is a beach bum like mine, I definitely recommend finding a chic beach tote that can replace her reusable Stop & Shop grocery bags. Having a bag specifically for the beach eliminates the morning packing chaos, is adorable, and you don’t have to worry about cleaning the sand out after!
What are you planning on gifting your mom with this year?
