During a recent trip to the liquor store, there were a couple tables set up with wine and liquor tastings, but one table caught my eye and was filled with Farmer Willie’s ginger beer. And to tell you the truth, I’ve never even tried ginger beer alone, I just knew it was the main ingredient in Moscow Mules. So I went over to the table and tried some ginger beer while the owner told me how he got into the ginger beer making business, about the ingredients, and just about everything else.
The short of it: Nico met this guy named Farmer Willie that was making small batches of this ginger beer down the cape. He was obsessed, he told his friend Matt, they decided the world needed this ginger beer. And now they work together with fresh ingredients so we can drink it.
Fast forward a few weeks and I realize I forgot that I had cans for ginger beer in the fridge. It was time to make a cocktail and I hadn’t had a Moscow Mule in ages so it was perfect! If you live in the area or will be visiting (eastern MA coast), I definitely recommend giving Farm Willies ginger beer a try!
