Weekend Clutch Essentials

Every single weekend I’m faced with two issues: what I’m going to wear and what I’m going to put all my shit in. Usually it’s the “what am I going to put all my shit in” that gets me stumped. Sometimes I am selfish and make my friends let me put my keys, ID, and cash in their bags for me but I realized this is a bad idea just in case me and said friend get separated and need my things #strugglecity.

Since this realization, a whole new slue of issues – What bag am I going to carry? Do I need to go shopping to find a new bag that matches my outfit? How much space do I need? Is there enough space in my bag for snacks? Finally I have mastered the act of carrying a purse out on the weekend.

Weekend Clutch Essentials

I’ve found that carrying some sort of clutch, wristlet, or cross-body bag are the best to carry on the weekends whether that means you’re headed to a concert, the bar, or simply doing errands! When you’re on the move, who wants to carry their big, bulky, day-to-day bag? Not me.

Shop these cute clutches:

Here are the things I always keep in my clutch:
Wallet // Depending on how big my bag is depends on whether or not I carry a wallet (or what size wallet, at that). The clutch I typically use is (thankfully) big enough to hold my regular day-to-day wallet, but if I used a different one I’ll just take the essentials (ID, debit card, cash).
Snacks // ‘Cause who goes anywhere without snacks? Not me. I actually forgot to pack snacks in my bag the other night and I was very butt hurt about it. Pretzels are the best if you’re headed to the bar and/or doing some heavy drinking (they’re even great to use as a chaser after you take shots *wink*). I happened to stumble across Scooby Doo fruit snacks at the Dollar Tree the other day and let me tell you, I missed eating these suckers.
Mints/Gum // Because we always want fresh breath to make sure we’re always ready to kiss all the boys *holler*

Keys // This one is obviously self-explanatory, but if it isn’t – how else am I going to get around town and into my apartment?

Lipstick (or chapstick) // I am obsessed with lipstick, like seriously obsessed. I’ve recently acquired a couple of theYSL Rouge Pur Couture Satin Radiance lipsticks and I absolutely adore them. There are so many colors to choose from and they are seriously so moisturizing that I can skip on lip balm.

Hard Candies // Hard candies are awesome, does that make me a grandma? It’s nice to be able to have a little sugar when you’re on the move and losing steam (and they taste great). Werther’s are the tastiest, you can get them sugar-free (if you’re into that kind of thing), there are a couple different flavors, and you can get chewy ones! Hard candy anyone?

Hair Ties // I always, always, always carry at least one hair tie with me. I honestly don’t trust any female that doesn’t have at least one in her wrist (is that rude, or?) but I like to keep backups because you never know when you’re going to need one, or when someone else will. The bar gets hot and sweaty, guys, especially when you’re dancing.

I completely agree about the hair ties! At least when I had longer hair (sadly I chopped all of mine off over the summer and it’s still taking it’s sweet time to grow back!). It is ALMOST long enough to go up now, so I’ll definitely be bringing hair ties with me at all times very soon!

Beautiful blog btw! I love how clean and chic it looks! 🙂

I always always always carry gum, especially at school, but somehow it always goes missing when I’m home (ugh, brothers).

I rarely ever use the hair ties I have with me, but you always need one when you don’t have one on you!

The snack size is PERFECT! It’s so easy to just throw it in your bag instead of worrying about putting a pretzels in a ziplock first!
